He spent most of his life in the Grand Rapids area. After retiring as a transportation supervisor from Amway Corporation, he enjoyed retirement in Florida for 14 years, returning to this area 10 years ago.
When Jerry wasn’t working, he was found outside enjoying the beauty of Michigan. Whether it was on his motorcycle or bicycle, no matter the route he took, he somehow always ended up at Lake Michigan to see the water.
Jerry is survived by his wife Debra; his daughters: Tamera (Tim) Blake and Katrina (Jason) Perry; his son-in-law Rick Girgenti; his grandchildren: Travis (Teresa Patterson) Boyd, Eric (Saydie) Girgenti; Jonathan Blake, Kaitlyn and Hanna Perry, and his great-grandchildren Lotus and Jude Girgenti. He was preceded in death by his daughter Teri Girgenti.
Per Jerry’s request he has been cremated. A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date.
Please honor Jerry’s memory by taking a journey to the lake to see the water.
