

Edward "Duke" Petrovich, age 90, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 8, 2017. He was born in West Hazelton, PA in 1926 and later settled in Michigan. Ed was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Margaret. He will be lovingly remembered by his children Patricia Haring (Steve), Don (Cyndi) Petrovich, Doug (Cathy) Petrovich, Patrick Petrovich, Colleen Smith, David Petrovich, Sheila Petrovich, Veronica (Ron) Krussell and 20 treasured grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Ed is also survived by one brother, Ted Petrovich of PA and sister-in-law Virginia Brower of Alto, MI, many nieces, nephews and friends. He proudly served his country in the Army Air Corps (Air Force) as a flight engineer in WWII. Ed worked for 24 years as a master mason and carpenter for the Grand Rapids Public Schools, prior to that he was a home builder. He was an avid gardener, hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed wine making, canning and casino trips. Ed was a long time member of the American Legion post #47 in Comstock Park. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Tuesday April 18, 2017 at Saint Jude Catholic Church (1120 4 Mile Rd NE, Grand Rapids MI 49525). Visitation will take place at the Reyers North Valley Chapel from 5-8 PM on Monday, April 17, 2017 with a Rosary reading at 7:30 PM. A second visitation has been scheduled at church beginning at 10:00 AM on Tuesday until the time of service. Ed will be laid to rest next to Margaret in Holy Cross Cemetery.
