Elaine Evelyn Sinke "Kuks"

Elaine Evelyn “Kuks” Sinke, age 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 3, 2013, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 3, 1926 in Manistee, Michigan to her parents Ellsworth and Henrietta Warnes. In 1946 she married the love of her life Robert Donald Kuks. Years later, after the passing of Robert, she married Donald Sinke. In her later years she enjoyed sharing her swimming pool and garden with her loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Those close to Elaine knew of her deep passion for singing and reading. Elaine will be deeply missed by her Children Kathy and Dale Overbeek, Kristy Thwaites, Tom and Cheryl Kuks, and Karen and Len Hannahan; her grandchildren Tracy, Lisa, Rob, Brian, Steve, Andy, Brianne, Tyler, Sarah, Margie, and Mary; her 13 great-grandchildren; and her loving nieces and nephews. The family would like to personally thank the staff of Pilgrim Manor for the loving care that they provided their mom. Elaine is preceded in death by her husband Robert Donald Kuks, husband Donald Sinke; brother Donald Lee Warnes; and son-in-law Bill Thwaites. The family will be greeting friends on Thursday, June 6, 2013 from 6-8 pm at Reyers North Valley Chapel (2815 Fuller Ave. NE, Grand Rapids MI 49505) and again from 10:30-11:30 on Friday, June 7, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church (2 Michigan St NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503). The service to celebrate Elaine’s life will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, June 7, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Contributions in Elaine’s memory may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
