I sit on my porch this early morning rejoicing with tears in my eyes.  For I look over my left shoulder to see an immaculate yellow house with a petite beautiful soul, busy attending to her flowers, berries, beach, and yard.   I hear music playing and her voice calling out "good morning" to all she sees.  I see the kindness of her smile and the joy in her eyes.  I feel the warmth of her hugs and love of her heart. 
 It is a peaceful morning as I listen to the sounds of the beginning of the day.  Feeling so blessed to have had Florence in my life and my family's life.

Florence was one of my favorite people. She had such a kind and loving spirit and was always gracious with her words of encouragement.  Her smile could light up the room!! I am so thankful her mind is now at rest. I will always be grateful for this special woman and the fingerprints she left on my heart. She was a blessing! 

What a joy it was to know Florence! We enjoyed having her in our church family for many years. I never saw her that she didn’t have a smile on her face and something kind or funny to say! Loved playing hasenpheffer (super euchre) with her at church! An inspiration to many as no matter her circumstances she would always lift someone else’s spirits!

There are stars that brighten the world. 
Florence shone among them. Smiles, kindness, courage, strength , joy. She really made a difference. Now , her lake house is enjoyed by our family, so we have a special spirit around us.
Now it's time to celebrate a life well lived.

Aunt Doll!  You brought so much joy into every room you ever entered.  You were so good to me when  I was little. I cherish all the xmas ornaments you made for all of us. Thank you for being such a bright shining star in my life. You are the sweetest. I hope you, Grandma and Uncle Bug are cruising heaven in an old classic hot rod! Love u soooo very much.

What a fun and gentle spirit Florence was.  I visited with her a number of times in the last couple of years when her home was at Heron Woods and when she was in rehab after she broke her leg.  My sister is a resident at Heron Manor and our paths crossed during activities and visits, I so enjoyed our conversations and always a hug.  No matter what she always had a smile.  Florence was and  will always be a part of our history at Rockford United Methodist Church where for many years she gave so much of herself to help her church family in any way she could.  I was blessed to have come to know Florence.

I met Florence while on a walk around the lake just a few days after she moved in. We became the best of friends and I could stop over any time of day and she would welcome me with coffee or tea and conversation.  Jerry and I went on trips with her and always had fun. I have so many good memories and pictures of our fun times. Will miss her.

Florence was a wonderful neighbor, kind, friendly, and thoughtful.

I was looking at houses for sale on Cowan Lake when I first met Florence in 1993. She insisted that I look at the house I was looking at, which is my present day home. What a character!! She was the first person that I met on the lake and we have been friends ever since. I am glad we met and lucky to have known her.  My condolences to the family of a wonderful person.

I loved Florence....she was a wonderful neighbor and friend. We occasionally went out for dinner or lunch, as our Birthdays were a day apart.  I enjoyed visiting her at her home on Cowan Lake, ....she always had a pot of tea and cookies to share over great conversation. She was a lovely woman and a blessing in my life. 
May she rest in peace.  Thoughts and prayers all the family. 

When we moved to Rockford on Cowan Lake, Florence was one of the first to welcome us. She saw we had two boys and baked us a dozen brownies, she said "boys love sweets".  

Another memory of ours, we started a Euchre Club on the Lake . Florence joined immediately, one of our first games she WON the monies...... when asked what she spent it on, she said "I donated it to my church".  What a special lady, we will always remember her thoughtfulness and kindness towards others .
