Frances Mae Stoll, age 89 of Grand Rapids went to be with Jesus while at The Oaks of Belmont on May 29, 2021. Frances was known to her siblings as Mae, while to most others as Fran. Frances was born in Flint, Michigan, on June 7, 1931 to Peter & Janet (Greenacre) Savage. Fran was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. After attending business school, Fran spent her career working in various offices as an executive secretary.
On her 21st birthday, June 7, 1952, Frances was united in marriage to Forrest Stoll Jr. who preceded her in death on July 27, 2008. Together, they raised their family of 7 children.
As a pastor’s wife, Fran was a dedicated follower of Christ and her faith was strong. She was a prayer warrior, and her family and community were always in her thoughts and prayers. Fran had a heart for missions and served as NMI president for many years in the church of the Nazarene. Fran was an active member of Northeast Community Church of the Nazarene, here in Grand Rapids.
Fran enjoyed crocheting and knitting. She loved gifting families of new babies with a handmade blanket, many now treasured heirlooms.
Frances is survived by her children: Jerry (Kellee) Stoll, Thomas (Diane) Stoll, Sherryl Johnson, Annette (Ed) Douglas and Nathan (Holly) Stoll; 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; sisters Shirley Jean Christoffersen and Nina Williamson; and her brother Paul (Sue) Savage as well as many other relatives.
Besides her husband of 56 years, Fran was preceded in death by her sons, Scott on January 29, 1989 and William on July 8, 2020, her parents and her brothers Dick, John and Dave Savage.
A memorial service for Fran is scheduled for Saturday June 5, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Northeast Community Church of the Nazarene; 861 Fuller Ave. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503 where family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. A luncheon will be served immediately following the service for all those who wish to linger.
Memorial donations in memory of Frances can be made to NMI through the Nazarene church to continue Fran’s work in missions.
The family also wishes to extend their thanks and gratitude to her caregivers at The Oaks of Belmont, and Heartland Hospice of Grand Rapids.
