Frances J. Thompson, of Grand Rapids, age 83, died Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Metro Health Hospital in Wyoming. Frances was born on July 15, 1930 in Grand Rapids, daughter of the late Allen and Elizabeth (Cryan) Scott. She was a Registered Nurse and had retired from Metro Health Hospital. Frances is survived by her children Robert (Mary) Thompson, Gregory Thompson, and Michele Zoerman, grandchildren Josh Thompson, Robert Thompson II, Emily Thompson, Scotty Thompson, Marie (Tony) Krueger, and Rick Zoerman, Great Grandchildren Jordyn and Nicholas Krueger. Also survived by sisters Elizabeth Hines and Lucille Williams, a brother Richard (Elaine) Scott and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by two brothers, Leon and Willis Scott. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 3, 2014, 3 pm at the Reyers North Valley Chapel, The family will receive friends Sunday from 4-8 pm and Monday from 2 pm until time of service. Interment at Rosedale Cemetery. If desired, memorials may be made to the Michigan Humane Society.
