Frederic F. Figley, born May 14, 1934, passed away peacefully at the home of his daughter Cheryl, with his family ever present. Our thanks and gratitude to Spectrum Health Hospice for providing such loving and compassionate care during this difficult time. They are all truly angels. Fred was a retiree of Lear Siegler after over 40 years of service. Formerly of Grand Rapids, Fred had resided in Coldwater since 1992. He called it “God’s Country”. The family had many special memories spent at “Figleyville”. Everyone was welcome there, and they came and had memorable times. Fred was preceded in death by his wife and love Helen F. (Gavin) Figley. Also preceding him were his parents, Calvin Kenneth and Frances Figley, his brother Calvin, his son Marcus Schmuker, sister-in-law Rita Huisken and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Ray and Mary Mattoon. Those left to remember his compassion and love are his sister, Suzanne Ashworth of Idaho, his son Fred Figley Sr. and his daughters Jaclyn (Russ) Jansma, Paulette (Chuck) Lesiewicz and Cheryl Schmuker. Also left to remember a truly wonderful “PaPa Fig” are Fred (Jamie) Figley Jr., Bryant (Tania) Figley, Katelyn Figley, Joshua (Nicole) Grzybowski, Veronica (Curt) Sanders and Brian (Erica) Lesiewicz along with 10 beautiful great-grandchildren, his sister-in-law Shirley Figley of Nevada, his brother-in-law Bobby Huisken of Marne and sister-in-law Doris Bonsavage of Florida. Fred also had numerous nieces and nephews who loved him along with many “Grand Rapids” friends. A private memorial service will take place at a later date at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. This will include his wife, Helen, as per his wishes. Also at a later date, the family will gather at the Fremont, Indiana Moose Club and the Coldwater Eagle’s Club with his many friends he dearly loved. We will remain heartbroken but feel blessed for having your endearing love in our lives. Until we reunite in eternal glory . . . Your guiding hand on our shoulder will remain with us forever.
