Gail Patricia Goudzwaard

Gail was the beloved daughter of Cliff and Lill Dean, and Doris and Dick Bowkamp, all of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Bonnie, and her brother, Larry.

She is survived by her devoted husband, David Goudzwaard, and her loving children, Lorie Rau, and Steve and Robi Rau. Gail was a proud grandmother to Nic Rau and Capt Kellen Rau of the United States Air Force. She is also survived by her siblings Jolynn Kleynenburgh, Faith Figger, and Eileen Araway; her sisters-in-law Joanne Napieralski and Carol Shepard; her brothers-in-law Howard and Beverly Goudzwaard; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Gail will be remembered for the energy and love she brought to everyone around her. She found joy in golfing, cooking, playing board games with family and friends, and taking peaceful walks on the beach. Her warmth, laughter, and loving spirit will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew and loved her.

We would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and aides at Blodgett Hospital for their kindness, compassion, and exceptional care in treating Gail. We are also deeply grateful to Faith Hospice for the comfort and support they provided during her final days.

A Memorial Visitation will be held at Reyers North Valley Chapel, 2815 Fuller Ave N.E., Grand Rapids, Michigan 49505, on June 12, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Memorial Service at the same location on June 12, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
