Gary Wayne McCullough

Gary Wayne McCullough, 80, passed away on June 27, 2026. Born April 21, 1946, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Gary was the son of Roy and Beatrice (Rhodes) McCullough. His family moved frequently before settling in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he graduated from Central High School.

Eight days after graduation, Gary enlisted in the Air Force and served his county for 23 years. He worked as a radar and radio repair tech, a role that reflected steady skill, dedication, and a deep sense of duty.

While serving overseas in the Pacific theater, Gary met his future wife, Marciana. Mercy and Gary were married in 1979, and he remained a loving and devoted husband throughout their life together.

In later years, Gary stayed actively involved in several military organizations, especially the AmVets and the VFW in Ruskin, Florida, where they wintered the last few years. His patriotism was not only something he believed, but something he lived—through service, through fellowship, and through enduring commitment to those who had worn the uniform alongside him.

Gary is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mercy; his brothers Jack and Patrick McCullough; and many nieces and nephews.

There are no funeral services planned at this time.
