George L. Carey passed peacefully on Sunday, September 19, 2010. He was the beloved husband of Corinne, father of Pat (Sue), Mitch (Nancy), Steve (Jan) and Keith, grandfather of Mike, Megan, Brandon, Lynda, and Justin. He is also survived by his sisters June and Georgia and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was a WWII Veteran and spent 30 years of his career as a salesman for Michigan Bell Yellow Pages. George was an avid bowler, golfer, fisherman and college football fan. He was a member of Fountain Street Church and mentored many. George was a volunteer driver for the Red Cross, and he loved animals. A Memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 from 6-9 PM at the Reyers North Valley Chapel 2815 Fuller Ave NE. He will be buried at Blythefield Memory Gardens. For those who wish, memorials can be made to the Kent County Humane Society. A Memorial Celebration for George’s life will be held at a later date in November.
