Georgina Rodriguez-Planes

Georgina Rodriguez-Planes, 74, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025, surrounded by love and the memories she created throughout her life. She was born on April 23, 1951, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, a place that shaped her strength, warmth, and deep devotion to family.

Georgina was a high school graduate, the devoted wife of Lazaro Planes, and the beloved daughter of Dionisio Rodriguez and Celia Cintron. She dedicated many years to Leon Plastics, where she was known for her strong work ethic and commitment. After retiring, she relocated to Naples, Florida, where she enjoyed a slower pace of life surrounded by those she loved most.

Above all else, Georgina was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was her world, and she poured her heart into caring for them. She was blessed with five children: Illiana Perron, J.A.R., Edwin Rodriguez, Migdalia Rodriguez, and Michael Rodriguez.

Her legacy lives on through her fifteen cherished grandchildren: Jacklyn De Jesus, Veronica Rodriguez, Adriana Rodriguez, Martha Castillo, Hector Rodriguez, Kayla Rodriguez, Abel Paez, Karen Vasconcelos, Jose Rodriguez Jr., Jared Neely, Michael Rodriguez Jr., Yareli Rodriguez, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Hannah Rodriguez, and David Rodriguez; ten beloved great-grandchildren; and her loyal and loving dog, Otis.

Georgina had a beautiful spirit and a creative soul. She expressed her love through cooking and baking meals that brought everyone together, and through her joy for dancing, singing, and sewing. Her laughter, her voice, and the warmth of her presence filled every room she entered. She had a rare gift for making people feel at home, seen, and deeply loved.

She also leaves behind a large and loving family of nephews, nieces, sisters, and brothers, all of whom will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Funeral services will be held on January 6, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Reyers North Valley Chapel, 2815 Fuller Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505.

Though she is no longer with us, Georgina’s love, strength, and spirit will live on through the generations she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.

Dedicó muchos años de trabajo a Leon Plastics, donde fue conocida por su fuerte ética laboral y compromiso. Tras su jubilación, se mudó a Naples, Florida, para disfrutar de una vida más tranquila rodeada de sus seres queridos.

Por encima de todo, Georgina fue una madre, abuela y bisabuela amorosa. Su familia era su mundo, y entregó su corazón por completo al cuidado de quienes amaba. Fue bendecida con cinco hijos: Illiana Perron, J.A.R., Edwin Rodriguez, Migdalia Rodriguez y Michael Rodriguez.

Georgina tenía un espíritu hermoso y un alma creativa. Expresaba su amor a través de la cocina y la repostería, preparando comidas que reunían a toda la familia, y mediante su alegría por bailar, cantar y coser. Su risa, su voz y la calidez de su presencia llenaban cada espacio al que entraba. Tenía un don especial para hacer que las personas se sintieran como en casa, valoradas y profundamente amadas.

También deja atrás a una gran y amorosa familia de sobrinos, sobrinas, hermanas y hermanos, quienes llevarán su memoria por siempre en sus corazones.

Los servicios funerarios se llevarán a cabo el 6 de enero de 2026 a las 10:30 a.m. en Reyers North Valley Chapel, 2815 Fuller Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505.
