Gladys Helen (Yost) Spangler passed away on November 4, 2010 at the age of 88. She was born in Grand Rapids on June 11, 1922 to the late John and Anna Yost. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband Alfred who passed away in 2001; a sister and brother-in-law, Lillian and Henry Vry;; a sister-in-law, June Yost; a niece Joanne Grunwell. She is survived by two daughters, Dianne (Chet) Kokot of Jenison, Jill Kozak (Bob Brooks) of Lansing; three grandchildren, Susan Kokot of New York, Melissa (Michael) Arocha of Lansing, Jody (Rodney) Stewart of Grand Ledge; six great-grandchildren, Gracie, Avery, Jackson, Evelyn, Lily, Mitchell; a brother, Lloyd Yost of Grandville, along with several nieces and nephews. Gladys retired from Old Kent Bank, Michigan Lafayette Branch, after 30 years of service. She was a longtime member of Blessed Sacrament Church, 2275 Diamond Ave. NE, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place next to her husband, Alfred, at Fairplains Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 5, 2010 at Reyers North Valley Chapel, with the rosary at 7:30 p.m. A visitation will also be held at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Blessed Sacrament Church.
