Harold Beauford Deel

Harold Beauford Deel, age 94, passed away on January 18, 2022 at Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was born on April 14, 1927 to the late James Howard & Ida (Raines) Deel of Haysi, Virginia. He was a proud United States Navy veteran of the Korean War, and a retired Teamster Truck Mechanic. Harold enjoyed bowling, reading documentaries, playing guitar, being outside doing yard work and tinkering with cars, especially his 1957 Chevrolet. His favorite place to visit was back home to Haysi, Virginia. He was a jack-of-all trades and could fix and repair any household problem. He loved going out to dinner. But most of all, Harold was a man who enjoyed his family. His grandchildren could always put a smile on his face instantly. He was their biggest fan! He is survived by his wife Yvonne; daughters Rebecca Deel and Kristi Landis; grandchildren Rachel and Andrew Landis; brother Jerry Deel and brother-in-law Dennis Mazur as well as many nieces and nephews. Harold was preceded in death by his son Sean Michael Deel and his six brothers: Johnny, Floyd, James, Cledith, Charlie and William Deel. Burial with military honors will be held on NOTE: DATE CHANGE Monday February 7, 2022 at 12:30 p.m. at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
