Helen Jeanine Hicks aged 78 of Sparta, passed away June 8, 2011 after a long struggle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents Virgil and Helen Thompson, five brothers; Ralph, Virgil, George, Leonard and Richard Thompson. She will be deeply missed by her daughter Pamela Brenner, two grandchildren Kory Brenner of Sparta, Caitlin Brenner of Comstock Park, two brothers; Donald and Kenneth Thompson, four sisters; Rose Palerito, Patricia Stack, Joyce Thompson and Valerie Brooks along with dear friend Marie Schipper. Helen was a member of Sparta Trinity Christian Reformed Church. In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held 12:30 PM on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Reyers North Valley Chapel 2815 Fuller Ave NE with Pastor C.J. den Dulk officiating. Friends and relatives may greet Helen’s family from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to American Cancer Society.
