

.James Dion Fouts, aged 78, passed away at home in the loving arms of his family on Sunday, January 3, 2016. He was born in the spring of 1937 in Muskegon, Michigan to the late Floyd and Isabel Fouts. Along with his parents Jim is preceded in death by his sisters-in-law Shirley Rasmussen and Madelyn Converse, and brother-in-law Ken Larson. Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Janet, their children Matt (Karen) Fouts and Camille (Todd) Hillis, his cherished grandchildren Sarah (Andy), Christian (Abby), Mary, Kaila, and Levi, as well as his adored great-grandchildren Connor and Clara. Also surviving are his 5 siblings Jack Fouts, Carol (Bill) Barnes, Mary David, Anne (Julian) Casarez, and Jeannie (Roy) Keur, his sister-in-law Helena Larson, brothers-in-law Charles Rasmussen and Lyle Converse and many nieces and nephews. Jim was an active and longtime member of St. Jude Catholic Church. He was also a dedicated family man, enjoying every moment with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jim worked for many years at Mazda Great Lakes and later at K&M Dodge until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time at the family cottage, fishing, and golfing. He will be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother. Please join Jim’s family for a memorial service at 11am on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at St. Jude Catholic Church (1120 4 Mile Rd NE, Grand Rapids, MI). A time of visitation will be held at church prior from 9:30am until the service at 11am.
