James Idziak

Jim graduated from Catholic Central High School and began his career as a landscaper immediately thereafter.

When war broke out in Vietnam, Jim was called to serve his country in the United States Army as a Communications Specialist. After returning from overseas, he became more and more involved in the company his father founded, Chet's Nursery. Eventually he took over the business and ran it for many years. He married Judy Johnson on September 19, 1969 and they spent the next 47 years together.

Jim was a member of the American Legion Post 0353. He enjoyed sports, especially Notre Dame athletics as well as the Detroit Tigers.

Family and friends were an important part of his life! He is survived by his children, Jim Idziak (Tiffany), Amy Domanski (Tony) and Jill Idziak; grandchildren, Adrian Idziak, Walker James Idziak, Vivian Idziak, Anthony Domanski and Thomas Domanski; brothers, Robert Idziak and Jerry Idziak; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1120 4 Mile Rd NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525, US, on May 26, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by the Funeral Mass at the same location at 11:00 am

A graveside service with Military Honors will take place at Plainfield Township Cemetery, Rockford, MI 49341, US, on May 26, 2026, at 2:00 pm
