

John “Jack” Detmers, aged 89, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Jack was born on August 4, 1925 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late John and Ethelyn Detmers. Also preceding him in death is his brother Andrew. Jack is survived by his nieces and nephews, Karen (Bob) Greenbauer, Michael (Josie) Detmers, Kathy Schaffer, Kristine Detmers, Kolleen (Richard) Frazine, Steven (Terri) Detmers, and Karel (Tom) Monroe. Also surviving are his 13 great nieces and nephews, 20 great-great nieces and nephews, and 2 more on the way. Jack was a lifelong dairy farmer, proud champion cattle breeder and in his youth, he was a member of the FFA and the 4H. Later in life Jack resided at Holland Home Fulton Manor where he became a fixture due to his ambitious singing in the hallways. He was a gentleman, and will be greatly missed. Jack’s family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Holland Home Fulton Manor for the care provided. The funeral service honoring Jack’s life will be held at Holland Home Fulton Manor (1450 Fulton St. E., Grand Rapids, MI 49503) on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 11am with Rev.
