

After graduating from Our Lady of Perpetual Help, he enlisted in the Army. He attended Aquinas College before working as a U.S. sales manager at Laser Alignment. Later he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and eventually dementia.
Jack was known for his wit, wisdom, and strong faith in a higher power. He enjoyed fifty years of sobriety and dedicated his life to helping others on their recovery journey. He loved spending time with his family, writing, social justice, theater, movies, satire, boxing, and more.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Barbara (Bakun) Nietling; children Michelle Euker (Dean DeFreese), Julie Nietling (Paul Haan), and Dan Nietling (Colleen Gabriel and Lilly Willard); grandchildren Andrew (Melissa) Euker, Justin Euker, Blake Nietling, Abigail Haan, and Benjamin Haan; five great-grandchildren Tyson Perkins, Andrew Euker Jr., Jameson Euker, Elena Euker, and Hadleigh Euker; sister Betty Gewirtz as well as many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many special friends, including Jim Keinlen, Tom Young, Chris Meehan, and Ben Shapiro. He will be greatly missed.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Yvonne Angst, Carol Mayhew, and Janis Coty; brothers Floyd Nietling, Don Nietling, and Art Nietling.
Memorial Visitation will take place on April 1 from 4:00 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Reyers North Valley Chapel. A Memorial Service will be held on April 2 at 11:00 a.m. where family will receive visitors for one hour prior at Reyers North Valley Chapel.
