Joseph was the first parishioner of Saint Jude Parish to be ordained a Priest.
He was Ordained on Saturday June 1, 1957 at Saint Francis Cathedral , Santa Fe, New Mexico and served at several parishes for the diocese of Santa Fe and later as a Chaplain Major in the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edith and Joseph Doyle and his brother Richard G. Doyle. He is survived by his Sister Patricia (Doyle) Cnossen, Brother William M. Doyle, and Sisters in law Judy Doyle, Peggy Doyle and many Nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian burial will be concelebrated with Father Mark Peacock and Father Thomas Page at Saint Jude Catholic Church, 1120 Four Mile Road NE, Grand Rapids, Michigan on Saturday March 13, 2021.

The Internment Service including a Military Honor Guard ceremony at Saint Patrick Parish Cemetery, Parnell, Michigan will be at a later date.
