

On Friday, September 12, 2014 Josephine Annie DeBruyn, aged 96, passed away surrounded by family and went to be with her Lord and Savior. Josephine was born to Angelo and Olivia Cavosie on September 4, 1918 in Bessemer Michigan. She is preceded in death by her husband Jim DeBruyn, her parents, her brothers Angelo, John, and Adolf, and her sister Amelia Stein. Surviving are her nieces Dolores Lomonaco and Nancy Robach, their family members, and many friends.
Josephine was known by her loved ones for many things, including the DeBruyn Candy Factory of Comstock Park, which she and her husband owned in the fifties and sixties. She was a proud and loyal volunteer at Kent Community for many many years, as well as an avid parishioner of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Josephine’s family would like to thank the hard workers of Sanctuary at Saint Mary’s for the care given to her during her stay.
Please join the family for visitation from 5-8pm on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Reyers North Valley Chapel, with the rosary being prayed at 7:30pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11am on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, with an additional hour visitation prior.
