

Karen Lee Zimmer, age 74, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 15, 2016 with her husband and family by her side after a long battle with cancer. Karen was born in the spring of 1942 to the late William and Mary Capron. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 48 years Richard Sr., their daughter Mary Zimmer-Gallagher, children Erin and Danielle; son Ric (Amanda) Zimmer Jr., children, Kaitlyn, Bryan, Brady, Brooklynn, AnnaLee and Cayne, as well as 2 great-grandchildren. Karen loved spending time with her family, and hosted many holiday gatherings at her home. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Karen retired from banking in 2014, after working in the industry for more than forty years. After retirement, Karen kept numbers close to her heart in the form of the famous Sudoku puzzles. Over the years, her hobbies included quilting, stain-glass, and wood working. The family would like to thank the medical staff at Lemmon Holton Cancer Pavilion for the extraordinary care given to Karen and her family during the past two years. Visitation will be held at Reyers North Valley Chapel on Monday, September 19, 2016 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm with the rosary being prayed at 7:30pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Parish on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 11am with Fr. Pat Grile officiating. An additional hour of visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral at church beginning at 10am.
