Ken married his love, Susan VanDriel, and the couple spent over 25 years together. He was a 'Jack of all Trades' and held many different careers throughout his life. He worked as a master mechanic, licensed contractor, and held a CDL trucking license. Ken loved being outdoors, spending time on his boat, and going camping. He was a car-guy and loved his Corvette. Ken was a loving husband and always put his family first. Despite his health struggles over the last 10 years, be always managed to choose joy.
Ken is survived by: loving wife, Susan Gilbert; sister, Karen (Mark) Stein; and brothers-in-law, Paul and David VanDriel.
Ken was preceded in death by: parents, Malcolm and Marilyn Gilbert.

Kenneth will be laid to rest in Fairplains Cemetery, in Grand Rapids. There are no public services scheduled at this time.
