Kermit Mongar, aged 68, passed away peacefully at his home in Tennessee on Tuesday, December 27, 2011. Born in Michigan in 1943, Kermit grew up with his 14 brothers and sisters. Kermit married Opal Darlene Mongar in July of 1977 and later in life retired from the Grand Rapids Veterans Facility where he worked in the maintenance department for many years. Kermit proudly served his country as a member of The National Guard. He was preceded in Death by his wife Opal in October of 2004, 6 of his brothers, and 1 granddaughter, Daryl Nicole Dunn. Surviving are Andy (Tonya) Wesche, Aaron (Agnes) Wesche, Amy (Brian) Lovell, Debra (Don) Miller, David (Samantha) Dunn, 8 brothers and sisters, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2011 at 2pm at Reyers North Valley Chapel. Visitation will begin at 11 am and be held until the time of service.
