Kevin was known for his quick mind, sharp wit, and larger-than-life personality. From a young age, he displayed exceptional academic ability, often surpassing children much older than himself, especially in mathematics. His natural curiosity, confidence, and gift for conversation made him someone people were drawn to throughout his life.
Kevin was a graduate of Central Michigan University where he was a proud member of his fraternity, Beta Theta Pi, and later earned his law degree from Golden Gate University. He was pursuing a career in law, a path that suited his love of debate and his talent for making a compelling case for just about anything. Family and friends often joked that Kevin could win any argument, even when he started out factually wrong. He approached life with humor, conviction, and a perspective that was uniquely his own.
Growing up, Kevin played both soccer and baseball and carried his love of sports throughout his life. A devoted fan of Michigan State athletics and Detroit sports, no team captured his passion more than the Detroit Tigers. While he pursued a future in law, one of his lifelong dreams was to someday work for the Tigers organization he loved so dearly. Whether at a family gathering, out with friends, or celebrating a special occasion, Kevin could usually be found keeping up with a game on his phone. Sports were more than a pastime for him—they were one of life’s constant joys. He often joked, “If I was only taller, I would’ve gone pro,” a line that perfectly reflected his sense of humor and enduring love of athletics.
Kevin enjoyed spending time with friends, throwing darts, traveling, and sharing a good laugh. Alongside his love, Taylor, he created countless memories exploring new places and experiencing new adventures together. As a devoted Detroit Tigers fan, Kevin had a goal of seeing the Tigers play in every Major League Baseball stadium, combining his passion for baseball with his love of travel.
Perhaps Kevin’s greatest gift was his ability to connect with people. He had friends from every walk of life and could make himself at home in any group. Whether among lifelong friends or complete strangers, Kevin’s humor, charisma, and genuine interest in others left a lasting impression. He was the kind of person who could strike up a conversation with anyone and leave them smiling.
Kevin is survived by the love of his life Taylor; his mother, Christine “Tina”; his father, Michael (Yana); his brother, Kyle (Ashley), and nephew Beau; his sister, Nicole; and his brother, Tyler. He also leaves behind many extended family members, friends, and loved ones who will continue to cherish the memories, laughter, and moments they shared with him.
Kevin’s humor, loyalty, passion, and unforgettable presence left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Though he is no longer with us, the stories he created, the friendships he built, and the love he shared will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
A celebration of Kevin’s life will be held at a later date.
