Lauretta Louise Rittenhouse Greenwood

Lauretta Louise (Rittenhouse) Greenwood went to be with Jesus surrounded by her family, on Sunday, January 18, 2015, at the age of 93. She was born in August of 1921 in Grand Rapids, to Arthur and Mary Winters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Allen Rittenhouse, her second husband Lyman Greenwood, two brothers, and one sister.

Surviving are her children; Doug (Lynne) Rittenhouse, James (Karol) Rittenhouse, Carla (Alex) Morel, grandchildren; James (Debbie) Rittenhouse, Dawn (Alex) Corona, Carmen (Isaac) Nwachukwu, Michele (Tom) Simpkins, Heather (Tony) Grandy, Cheryl (Tim) Piippo, Brent Ramsby, Michelle (Randy) Schafer, Nikki (Vernon) Wright, 12 great-grandchildren, sister Gladys Huebner, brother Roger Winters as well as several nieces and nephews.

Lauretta will be missed and remembered as a talented dancer. She would dance evenings away at the Boat and Canoe Club, and even passed her gift of dance to her children, teaching them her every move. Over the years she traveled, including memorable trips to Hawaii, Florida, Canada, and the western States.

Please join her family for visitation on Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 5-8pm, and again on Friday, January 23, 2015 from 10am until the time of her Funeral Service at 11am at Reyers North Valley Chapel. Interment in Chapel Hill Memorial Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan or the Alzheimer’s Association.
