Linda was a graduate of Union High School, and went on to start her undergraduate degree at Grand Valley State University, completing it at Central Michigan University. She went on to earn her master's degree in teaching from Grand Valley. Linda taught in the public school system for over 35 years -22 of which were at Kenowa Hills Public Schools. She loved reading and had a passion for knowledge. Linda loved to travel and spend time at the beach and with her family. Her favorite beach was in the Upper Peninsula, at her cabin on Lake Superior. She also loved sewing, shopping, jewelry, and going to art fairs. Linda was a proud feminist, independent, strong-willed, and intelligent woman. Her positive outlook and quick wit will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Jane Sharphorn.
She is survived by her husband, Lee Bertram; children, Jeff (Sue) Potter, and Chris (Sue) Potter; grandchildren, Taylor, Jake, and Dylan Potter & Kayla, Caitlyn, and Brenna Potter; sister, Sue (Gary) Adams; brother, Kim (Molly) Sharphorn; as well as, many nieces, nephews, close friends, and extended family.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Reyers North Valley Chapel. A memorial service will be held the following day, Friday, May 31, 2024 at 12:00 pm, also at the funeral home. The family will welcome guests one hour prior to the start of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Heart Association or Planned Parenthood.
