

Malvin Jack McCarthy, age 88, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, August 31, 2015 at home, while in the company of family. Mal was born to the late Leon and Martha McCarthy in 1927. Also preceding Mal in death is his beloved wife of 67 years Eunice who passed earlier this year as well as his brother Don McCarthy. Surviving Mal are his 6 children Joy (Bob) Bolick, Jimmie (Debbie) McCarthy, Suzanne Sebree, Debi (Wayne) Hashimoto, Kevin (Gina) McCarthy and David (Reba) McCarthy; his 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, as well as his sister Betty (Don) Bidelman. He is also survived by many dear and caring friends. Malvin’s children would like to express the deepest heartfelt appreciation to granddaughter Tiffany, for the tender loving care she has provided for her grandparents. Mal was a member of Faith United Church of God for many years. He was a devoted employee of Teledyne Continental Motors for over 30 years. Mal was also a proud WWII veteran, having served his country with the United States Navy. He will be fondly remembered for his love of dogs and as a caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Please join Malvin’s family for visitation on Friday, September 4, 2015 at Reyers North Valley Chapel from 4 to 6pm. An additional time of visitation will be held from 10 to 11am Saturday, September 5, 2015 at Faith United Church of God (3290 Walker Ave. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49544) followed by the funeral service officiated by Pastor Steve McDaniel. Malvin will be interred next to Eunice in Rosedale Memorial Park.
