Born Margaret Lowes Petelo Gray Hadraft - July 21, 1927 in Glasgow, Scotland. While welding in the Glasgow shipyards during WWII, Margaret met U.S. Army SSgt and artist Ralph H. Scharf JR. Their love letters passed back and forth over the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. After the war, Ralph flew back to Scotland, where he surprised and married the red-headed Scot. Margaret became a fantastic cook and baker, after learning the skills from Great-Grandma Toth. Family and friends remember her apple pies! One of Margaret’s favorite pastimes was BINGO and going on the bus runs to the casinos. Margaret is survived and remembered by her three sons - Martin (Kim), Gary (Debbie) and David, five grandsons – Steven (Kelley), Tony (Diana), Nathan (Ashita), Trevor and Christopher, and two great-grandchildren – Morgan and Gavin. Someday – we all will get to enjoy her baking again! Our mother, Margaret, now rejoins our father, Ralph, on their next journey. Forever Mom! A Memorial visitation will be held Thursday, April 21st, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at Reyers North Valley Chapel.
