Margaret "Maggie" J. Winkel

On August 20, 1971, Maggie was united in marriage to the love of her life, Richard Winkel. As they settled into their life together, they would welcome three children into their family.

Maggie had a strong faith, and raised her family at East Leonard Christian Reformed Church where both, she and Richard, served as youth group leaders for many years.

She was a talented seamstress and for many years worked for Leigh’s in Breton Village doing alterations.

Her favorite pastime was making memories with her children and grandchildren. She loved camping at Pioneer Park in Muskegon and the occasional change of scenery in Grand Haven.

Maggie was a devoted wife of 51 years, a loving mother and caring grandmother. Her smile will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Richard; her children: Kara (Chad) Metz, Marcie (Tim) Bergstrom and Dirk (Traci) Winkel; her grandchildren: Luke, Zach and Hannah Metz, Haley and Ethan Bergstrom and Aadyn, Landyn and Hudsyn Winkel, and her sisters: Ruth McGuire, Bonnie (Dave) Tosh and Kathy (Kim) Cheney as well as many other relatives.

A memorial service for Maggie will be held on Saturday May 13, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at East Leonard Christian Reformed Church with her son-in-law Chad Metz presiding.
