Marian H. (Mickey) Shepard, age 93, of Grand Rapids, MI passed into the arms of Jesus at home on Sunday, January 10, 2021 surrounded by her family after a short battle with cancer. She was born May 16, 1927 in Grand Rapids to Frank & Ruth Hendrickson, 1 of 9 children.

On September 27, 1947 she married Richard Shepard who preceded her in death on September 9, 1976. She was also preceded in death by daughter Pamela Kay who died at birth on May 16, 1949, her parents, brothers LeRoy, Vernon & Frank (Bud) & sisters Beatrice & Lucille. She is survived by 3 sons, Kevin (Diana) Shepard, Timothy (Jenine) Shepard & Jeffrey (Laurie) Shepard, 5 grandchildren Michael, Cassondra, Christina, Richerd & Sofia, 3 great grandchildren, Courtney, Kendall & Ridley as well as 3 sisters Thelma, Jackie (James) Harvey & Alice, nieces and nephews and friends who loved her dearly.

Marian enjoyed life to its fullest and had many hobbies including making knitted slippers, doing word search puzzles, making crafts, playing rummy with her sisters and cousins & bowling with her senior lady friends every week. She will be remembered for her happy personality, smile and quick wit. Marian has had a wonderful life! She will be missed by many.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 14th from 2-4PM & 5-8PM at Reyers North Valley Chapel 2815 Fuller Ave. NE Grand Rapids. Please be respectful and understanding as attendance will be limited to 25 guests (mask will be required) within the funeral home at any time. Interment will be at Fairplains Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.

I remember Marian as a kind and gentle person with a great sense of humor. I saw her a while back at meijer and she still remembered me and it has been probably 30 years since we had crossed paths. I’m sorry for your loss.
