

Marilyn A. Verlin, age 79 of Grand Rapids, passed away at Spectrum Blodgett on January 19, 2021. She was born on March 4, 1941 in Grand Rapids to Michael Edmund and Loretta Bernadine (McGann) Verlin.
Marilyn began her career working for Central Bank in Grand Rapids and worked her way up to becoming a bank officer. She later took advantage of early retirement to enjoy time with her family.
She enjoyed reading, doing arts and crafts, and she was a huge Elvis fan. She had a vast collection of his records. Family was important to Marilyn. She spent years taking her niece and nephews to school every day and in the summers she made sure their days were filled with fun memories of swimming and playing games. The countless Uno games will not be forgotten.
Marilyn is survived by her sister Joan VanWeezel; her nephews Scott VanWeezel and Todd (Amanda) VanWeezel; her nieces Robin (Rick) Vargo and Shannon Drew and her great-nieces and nephews: John, James, Maria, Loretta, Thomas, Liam, Abby and Angelica. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Sharon Drew and brother-in-law John VanWeezel.
Visitation will be held on Thursday January 28, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Reyers North Valley Chapel where a Rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. with the family receiving friends for an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Fairplains Cemetery.
