Marinus VanLiere

Marinus Van Liere, age 96, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Kalamazoo died on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Fulton Manor in Grand Rapids. Mr. Van Liere was a proud veteran of WWII having served in the U. S. Army. He was retired from the Upjohn Co. after more than 30 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; great granddaughter, Lydia Winne and 7 brothers. Marinus is survived by 3 children; Arlene (Jim) Kornoelje of Grand Rapids, Sherry (Richard) Winne of Rockford, and Dan Van Liere of Kentwood. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren; Timothy (Melissa), David and Debra Kornoelje, Kevin, Jeffrey (Katie), and Lisa Winne, Alisha and Macy Van Liere.

Funeral services to honor the memory of Mr. Van Liere will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Reyers North Valley Chapel, 2815 Fuller Ave. NE. with Pastor Ray Mayhew of Calvary Church officiating. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Kalamazoo. The family will receive friends at the chapel on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
