

She met, fell in love and married Nicholas John Savara on January 4, 1947. They settled in Grand Rapids where they raised their family.
Mary will be fondly remembered as a kind and thoughtful lady who loved her family deeply. She had a strong faith in God and was a life-long member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nick; her parents; son-in-law, Robin Bye; sisters, Adele Sakocious and Anne Walukonis; brother, Charles Walukonis; brothers-in-law, George, Ray and Bill Savara, Ed Sakocious and Rodger Coolsen; sisters-in-law, Eileen Krampe and Francis Walukonis.
Mary will be remembered and her life will be celebrated by her loving family; children, Scott Savara, Steve (Kathy) Savara and Kathy Bye; grandchildren, Justin (Andria) Savara, Karly (Craig) Merizon, Jordan (Linh) Savara, Erik Bye and Alicia Bye; great grandchildren, Felicity, Caleb, Jonah, Henry and Kai Savara; sisters-in-law, Marcia Coolsen and Irene Savara; and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service for Mary will take place at 12:00 pm on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 134 Division Ave. NE. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 11:00 am.
