Michael A. Bolhuis

Michael A. “Mikey” aged 40 of Portage went home to be with his Lord after a long battle with Kidney disease on Monday, December 21, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents Danny and Arlene Bolhuis, grandparents; Henry and Anna Bolhuis, Meno and Laura Storteboom. Mikey will be lovingly remembered by his brothers and sister; Lori (Charles) Swadling, Randy (Andrea) Bolhuis of North Carolina, Steve (Kassandra) Bolhuis, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Michael was a graduate of Portage Central. He worked in the security business and enjoyed helping people. Mikey was a loving and compassionate person, reporting distress calls to Channel 3 when he heard people needed help over his scanner. He loved his family and was very protective of his father. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him. Special thanks, to the staff at both Borgess and Bronson hospitals, for the loving care of Michael. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Monday, December 28, 2008 at Mount Ever-Rest Memorial Park Chapel 3941 South Westnedge Ave, Kalamazoo, MI.
