Michael Chris Moy

Michael Chris Moy, age 45, of Grand Rapids died Saturday, August 11, 2012. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend Cindy, 4 step-children; Kristi Schimpf, Michelle (Chris) Schimpf, Stephanie Schimpf and Jeremiah Schimpf all of Grand Rapids, mother and step-father Jeanne and Gary Hoye, 2 grandchildren, Allison, Lynnae, several aunts, uncles, cousins, best friend Jim (Shauna) Post and his dog Eagle Moy. Mike had been recently employed as a cook but his real love and talent was chain saw carving. He attended Kendall Art School and was active in Art Prize Competition each year and had won several other competitions. You can see many of Mike’s pieces around town. Mike was a kind hearted, outgoing, fun person, who loved his family, animals and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his father William F. Moy and cousin Rob Gillespie. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at the Reyers North Valley Chapel 2815 Fuller Ave NE with Pastor Chuck VanLente officiating. Visitation will be 5-8 PM on Tuesday and 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. In keeping with Mike’s passion memorials can be made to the Grand Rapids Children’s Museum for youth art.
