Miguel “Michael” Jesus Bazan, age 30, passed away unexpectedly on September 29, 2021. Michael was born January 31, 1991 in Grand Rapids, the third son of Robert Bazan III and Annette (Phillips) Cochrane.
Michael grew up in the Grand Rapids area and attended Sparta Schools. It was very early on, that his parents noticed his tender heart for animals. He spent time volunteering for the Humane Society and other animal rescues. Over the years many cats and dogs found their loving home with Michael.
As Michael grew so did his natural caregiving tendencies. There was a compassion in the way Michael conducted himself that set him on the path to being a community support provider. It was a natural fit for him as he enjoyed helping others, and his warm personality allowed the people he served to be instantly at ease when he was there.
He had a sense of humor that made even the grumpiest people smile between his quick wit and one liners, there was always laughter when Michael was involved. His loving, giving heart and his natural ease with people is who Michael was. He lived his life fully and there will be comfort found in his legacy of kindness, love and acceptance.
Michael is survived by his parents Robert III (Susie) and Annette; his brothers: Robert IV (Amber) Bazan, Tony Bazan and Colin Cochrane; his sister Nicole Roethler; his grandparents: Paul & Fran Kazmierski and Robert Jr. & Carmen Bazan; his great-grandmother Clara Marshall; his nieces and nephews: Robert V, Owen, Jayden, Amaya, Lucas, Cason, Kaleb and Jaxon and his best friend Chris Zizos as well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins relatives and friends.
Visitation for Michael will be held on Thursday October 7, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Reyers North Valley Chapel where a funeral service will be held on Friday October 8, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Following cremation, private burial will take place at Fairplains Cemetery.
