Patrick Raymond Wheeler

Patrick Raymond Wheeler age 75, of Grand Rapids, passed away April 28, 2016 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family. He was born in the Summer of 1940 in Grand Rapids, MI to Cloyd and Sabra Wheeler. Surviving Pat is his beloved wife of 39 years, Diane [Schippers] as well as their children Barb (Mike) Clahassey, Crystal Burnett, Kathy (Carey) Hillard, Lori Wheeler, Pat Wheeler, Debbie (Marty) Schmidt, Mike Joyce (deceased), Joe “Leo” (Lori) Joyce and Kristine (Ron) Martell, 21 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, several brothers and sisters and many nieces and nephews. Pat was an employee of Light Metals Inc. where he had worked for over 30 years until retirement. He and Diane are active members of Messiah Lutheran Church. Pat will be lovingly remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and a loyal friend to many. A funeral service officiated by Pastor Tom Bartzsch has been scheduled to take place at Messiah Lutheran Church (2727 5 Mile Rd NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525) at 11:00 am on Monday, May 2, 2016 with a time of fellowship afterwards. Visitation has been scheduled for Sunday May 1, 2016 at Reyers North Valley Chapel from 4-7 PM with an additional hour of visitation prior to the service at church. Pat will be laid to rest in Blythefield Memorial Garden.
