

Peggy A. Vollink passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018, following complications from influenza. She was born in Grand Rapids on August 2, 1928, to the late Leslie and Olga Bousman. She was preceded in death by her first husband Raymond Vossen in 1962. In 1967, Peggy married Ray Vollink who died in 2011. Also preceding her in death were her sister, Jeanne Barr, and her brother, William Bousman. After a career working in medical records, she retired and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, reading, traveling, bingo, photography, rooting for the Detroit Tigers, and gardening – especially pulling weeds and growing tomatoes. She was member of the North Park Presbyterian Church. Above all, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed by her children David (Camela) Vossen, Richard (Susan) Vossen, Brian Vossen, Kathleen Scott, and Kristine (William) Mieras; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and step children Dan (Kathy) Vollink, Greg (Maria) Vollink, and Tim (Rhonda) Vollink. Visitation is on Friday, February 16, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Reyers North Valley Chapel, 2815 Fuller Ave, NE, where a memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 17, at 11 a.m. following visitation at 10 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
