Lazzarini (Lazzar), Ralph William Lazzarini Jr, age 62, of Grand Rapids, died on July 10, surrounded by family and his beloved dog Pippa. Ralph is survived by the love of his life, Susan Alonso and his treasures, Miren and Gillian. He will be forever loved by his mother, Meg Lazzar; siblings, Mary Clark, Nancy and Matt Doornbos, John Lazzarini, sister-in-law, Laurie Lazzar and now joins his father and brother Greg in the house of our Lord. He will be remembered by all as a brave and honorable man whose family always came first, who loved cooking, music, nature, and his great many pets. Ralph outran cancer and heart disease for many years to extend his time, here on earth, for the people he loved. We give our sincerest gratitude to the entire “5 Heart” team at Spectrum Health for the valiant battle they fought alongside Ralph. The amazing love, care and unwavering support provided to all of us, these many months, will never be forgotten. We love you all. I have so many memories of my oldest friend. It all started when we were 6 years old and he pulled my hair and I turned around and poked him with my pencil, finding out later in our 50's that I caused lead poisoning. I did apologize for that. Ralph was my first boyfriend, first feelings of love, first kiss. In our years down the road we reminisced about our lives and what a gift it was to have grown up with so many wonderful people as friends that continue to be our friends today. You will be missed by so many my friend and our memories will forever live on.
