Roberto Bazan Jr. passed away on August 29, 2025 in Grand Rapids, MI. Roberto was born in Kingsville, Texas on February 22, 1940. He lived in Kingsville and Corpus Christi, Texas until moving to Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1969.
Roberto was a dedicated and hardworking man with an unparalleled work ethic his entire life. He worked a full-time job until he was 85 years old when health concerns forced him into what he would consider an early retirement. He was always the first to arrive and the last to leave.
Roberto’s passion outside of his job was working on and riding his motorcycle. He truly loved being on the road with no particular destination in mind. Just being on his bike and riding were enough. Roberto also loved classic cars. When he could no longer ride motorcycles, he enjoyed attending car shows in the greater Grand Rapids area. His favorite car was a 1951 Mercury.
Roberto loved spending time with his grandchildren. He would spend much of his time entertaining his grandchildren at the local park or watching their favorite movies.
Roberto was preceded in death by his father, Roberto Bazan Sr.; sisters Alicia and Rebecca; and grandson Michael.
Roberto is survived by his wife Carmen; his children, Robert (Susie), Raymond (Kimberly), and Emily (Dave); numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews; and a host of friends he made throughout his life.
Roberto’s family respectfully requests that no flowers or gifts be sent. If you wish to honor Roberto’s memory, please consider donating towards a worthy cause in his name:
