Ruth "Emily" Morse

Ruth Emily (Bassler) Morse, born October 11, 1923 gained her wings on September 3, 2022 at the age of 98. Preceding her in death were her husband Richard of 77 years, her sons Jim & Scott Morse and her parents George & Florence (Grutchfield) Bassler.

She is survived by her children: Gerry Dawson, Ronald (Barb) Morse, Beverly Shepard; her daughter-in-law Betty (Steve) Morse Semeyn; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.

Emily was born in a small town in Canada. She made the long journey to the US alone on a train when she was just 11 years old. She enjoyed baking, camping and being with her family.

Emily was a woman of great faith. She was an active member of Northeast Community Church of the Nazarene. She never judged or turned anyone away. There aren’t enough words to describe Emily’s unconditional love for God, her family and life itself. She will always be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, aunt and friend.

The family will greet friends at Northeast Community Church of the Nazarene on Saturday September 24, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. where her memorial service will follow at 2:00 p.m.
