Starling C. Post, age 88, went home to her Lord and Savior on December 8, 2018. She was born on September 28, 1930, in Comstock Park, MI, the daughter of the late Gardener and Mabel (Patterson) Post. In addition to her parents, Star was preceded in death by brothers, Herbert, Richard (Ilene), and Jackie Post; sister, June Hunt; brother-in-law, Travers Roe; nephews, Herbert Hunt, Michael Matthews, and Larry Post; niece, Judy Stogsdill. She is survived by her sister, Mabel Roe; and numerous other family and friends who will miss her dearly. Star served as a registered nurse, having gained her degree through Butterworth Hospital's nursing program. She went on to serve as a missionary in Hong Kong for 12 years, running her own nursing clinic. She spent the remainder of her nursing career at Clark Home. Star enjoyed her early years spent on the family farm, and looked forward to family gatherings at Half Moon Lake, where she spent many years fishing and swimming. She looked forward to visits from her relatives from California: Mabel, Mark, Beki, Brooke, and Autumn. Star loved celebrating life moments with Sue, Nicole (Chris), and Ryan (Sandra), where enjoyed being with the girls: Alexis, Reese, Adrianna, Ryleigh and Sadie. Also, Star taught the four and five year old Sunday School class, enjoyed playing on the church softball team, and volunteering for Continental Baptist Missions. In recent years, she felt her calling was to serve her friends at Rest Haven, through prayer, songs, and sharing scriptures. Visitation for Star will take place on Thursday, December 13, 2018, from 5:00 - 8:00pm at Reyers North Valley Chapel. A Funeral Service will follow on Friday, December 14, 2018, at Alpine Baptist Church, at 11:00am, with a visitation an hour prior. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
