He was preceded in death by his mother Eve Datema, and his sister Cynthia Ann Datema. Surviving are his father John Datema, sister Stacy (Jeffrey) Westra, nephew Justin (Heather) Westra, niece Brooke (Matthew) VanderPloeg, several great nieces and nephews and many friends.
Steven was an avid photographer who loved stock car racing. He combined those loves and could be found all summer traveling around taking photos at the various race tracks. He graduated with a BS from Grand Valley State University, and worked for many years at Irwin Seating. He will truly be missed.
In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.
