We found out about Sandy's passing a couple of days ago. We knew Sandy for over 40 years. We would run into him a couple times each year and he would make you feel like it was only yesterday that he had talked to you. He was a great guy and friend. He will be missed. Our prayers go out to his family.I am posting a picture from Halloween 1970's. He had a great sense of humor.

Sandy was a decent, generous, and kind person. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him, Sandy thanks for that opportunity. May you rest in peace.

To Sandy's Family,

I'm sad to not have received the news of Sandy's passing until late yesterday. We were friends since high school days and on through his drag racing years, and on to the many memorable visits of both myself and my son to 6-Mile. Please accept my sincere condolences and sympathies. A good man, and a good friend. Rest in Peace, old friend...

I first met Sandy at Don Armstrong's on Plainfield. He helped me with so many auto repairs when I got in over my head. Always fair and honest. One of the good guys!

Sandy and I went to Oakview School together--he was a good classmate and a trusted friend--we met only off & on over the years since then--I could always count on getting a "deal" when visiting 6 Mile Auto--he was a "thinker"--sorta slow to respond--but always with kindness and consideration of our friendship--I'm saddened at his passing--"too soon, my friend--too soon".....I don't like saying good-bye to a life-long friend....Tom Scholtens - GR

Sandy was one of the really good guys. A great dry sense of humor, as honest as they come. I'll miss you-

It saddened me to see the pain on Newell's face when he had to tell me of his best friend's passing, and we both have so many fond memories! We sure had a lot of fun, and we just never knew what that guy would think of doing next...we will both miss him! Rest in peace, Sandy - I love you, too!!!
