Tom was the sweetest man. All winter long for as long as I can remember he shoveled or plowed my driveway. He knew I’m a single mom with two little ones and he just did it no questions asked. I remember telling him this last time he was going straight to heaven and I know that’s where he’s at. They don’t get any better than “Mr. Tom” as my girls called him!

For ten years or a few men gathered with Tom early Wednesday mornings for prayer, fellowship and Bible study. I chose to sit beside him whenever I could. His quiet, wise, caring nature was evidenced by his conversations and prayers as we went around praying for one another, family, shut ins, church and the world. His corvette and sail boat were immaculate. I asked to sail one summer and he obliged generously with a glass of Muscato wine and conversation in the gentle breeze on the dock before departing. With hardly any wind we motored a half mile out on the lake. As the wind kicked up and propelled us silently, Tom said, "Isn't this a blessing. No motor, no noise, just the wind powering us silently through the waves, just like God does our lives." I have never experienced the "spirit-wind" of the Lord more closely or deeply than that moment with Tom!" Thank you "Hutch"! Pastor Otto

Tom was a faithful member of Immanuel Lutheran Church’s Men’s Bible Study. His quiet wry sense of humor and devotion to scripture enriched our study immensely. He was always willing to visit the home bound, help out on the sound board and give of his time. We will miss him and look forward to seeing him again in Heaven.

Our condolences and prayers to the family, especially the precious grandchildren that I know Uncle Tom would have adored and cherished.
Something I will always remember about Uncle Tom from when I was a kid is how he wouldn’t drink coffee, he always drank milk, like the kids. And he loved the stuffing at Thanksgiving dinner, just like the kids! We had so much fun during his visits. I didn’t get to tell him, but I think my son Jackson has inherited his love of corvettes. ♥️

Paul and I were new to Crosswinds Marina last year. Hutch was the first person to run and help us into our slip until we could handle a boat twice the size we were used to! What a kind man. Rest in Peace.

We sure will miss Hutch on the dock. He was always there with a helping hand when you needed it. Going to miss him there to help with docking on those windy days.

Smooth sailing Hutch!
