Violet Lois Krohmer

Violet L. Krohmer, age 87, of Baltimore, Maryland and recently of Grand Rapids, Michigan entered into eternal life on Friday, September 26, 2014. Violet (McFadden) Krohmer was born May 24, 1927 to Matilda and Harry McFadden in Lewistown, PA and lived most of her life in Baltimore, Maryland in the neighborhood of Brooklyn. She was a devoted mother and daughter who cared for her parents, she was an active member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Baltimore, and she was admired by all who knew her for her kind heart and strong faith. She was proceeded in death by her parents, as well as her beloved husband Fritz S. Krohmer, a veteran of World War II, by whose side she will be laid to rest in Baltimore National Cemetery.

Also proceeding her in death were: her sister Madeline (Harry) Dillon and brothers Thomas (Elsie), Merrill (Nellie), and Walter (Ruth) McFadden. She is survived by her son Stanley Krohmer and daughter-in-law Patricia Clark. She is also survived by nephews Ramon (Carole) Dillon, Harold (Barbara) Dillon, David (Melody) McFadden, and nieces Carole (Patrick) Kenny and Sharon Dillon. Also surviving are many grand-nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

In her earlier years, Violet was an avid gardener, an Avon representative and Cub Scout den mother, and loved playing the piano, as well as singing hymns, joined on many adventures by her friend Polly Connor. Violet was cared for in her final two years by attendants and nurses at Pilgrim Manor as well as Faith Hospice. We thank them for their kindness and compassionate care.

Arrangements are being coordinated by Reyers North Valley Chapel of Grand Rapids, Michigan and McCully-Polyniak Funeral Home of Baltimore, Maryland. The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, Septmeber 30, 2014 from 6pm to 8pm at McCully-Polyniak Funeral Home in Baltimore, Maryland. Violet will be laid to rest next to her husband in Baltimore National Cemetery on Wednesday, October 1, 2014. The graveside service officiated by Rev. Steve Smith.
