After graduating from NorthPoint High School, Bill studied at Grand Rapids Community College, Cornerstone University, and Grand Valley State University. He had a passion for cooking, so naturally he had a knack for managing restaurants.
When he wasn’t working, Bill still enjoyed to cook for his family and friends, especially his parents, Aunt Carol, and nephew Gavin who has dietary restrictions. He went to many of his nephews’ baseball and hockey games, cross country and track meets, as well as piano recitals and school events.
Bill loved to accompany his Aunt Carol while antiquing.
Bill was a big animal lover. He took care of many different pets throughout his life including cats, dogs, frogs, and even sugar gliders and a prairie dog. Bill definitely had a green-thumb and his patio was the talk of the apartment complex, overflowing with flowers and vegetables.
Bill is survived by his father and step-mother, William and Sharon (DeVries) Burd; brother Todd (Joy) Burd; very special nephews Gavin Burd and Dalton Burd; Aunts Carol Burd, Ruth (Gene) Gephart; and Uncle Paul (Karen) Burd. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lynne, and grandparents William and Lucille Burd.
