Bill was a truly special man, and he was loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He had a heart that was always open. He welcomed everyone with open arms and made people feel like they belonged. Whether you had known him for years or had just met him, he had a way of making you feel comfortable, accepted, and at home.
He loved hockey, and it was one of the many things that brought him joy. He also loved building things. There was something special about watching him take an idea and turn it into something real with his own hands. He was a man who could create, fix, build, and figure things out, and he took pride in doing things himself.
But perhaps one of the greatest things he loved was traveling. He loved seeing new places, experiencing new things, and making memories along the way. His sense of adventure carried him beyond the familiar and gave him stories and experiences that will live on in the hearts of those who shared them with him.
Above all, he loved people. His family, his friends, and everyone fortunate enough to cross his path knew his generosity and warmth. He never needed a reason to welcome someone in, lend a hand, share a laugh, or make someone feel cared for.
His passing leaves an emptiness that words cannot fully express. But we will carry him with us in the memories we made, in the things he built, in the places he helped us discover, in every hockey game that brings a smile, and in the kindness he taught us to give to others.
The family would like thank West Michigan Hospice for their loving care and compassion during a difficult time.
Bill was loved by all, and that love will never disappear. He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
In Loving Memory, rest peacefully, Bill. Until we meet again.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, October 9, 1:00pm-4:00pm at the American Legion Boat & Canoe Club 401 N Park Street NE Grand Rapids, MI 49525.
