Wilma Louise Thorpe

Wilma Louise Thorpe, age 95, of Grand Rapids, MI passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026 at Cascade Trails Senior Living and Memory Care in Cascade, MI. She was born on July 28, 1930 in Muskegon, MI. Wilma was the daughter of Harry and Louise Feathers. She graduated from Grand Rapids Public Schools on May 24, 1971.

Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Thorpe; son, John Gallaway; and sister, Rosa Haigh. She is survived by her children, Brian L Thorpe and Brenda L Thorpe (Skinner); 12 grandchildren; and three special friends, Carol, Harry, and Kathleen.

Wilma always considered her family first. She worked as a farmer on their farm before moving to Grand Rapids, MI and was a sewer at Jolly Kids in Belding, MI. She also worked as a secretary for Thorpe Electric Co.

Her hobbies were quilting, crocheting, knitting, camping, fishing, and gardening. She also loved puxzxles, yard sales, cooking, travelling, and listening to country music.

Wilma loved everybody and would help anybody. She lived life to the fullest and especially enjoyed being outdoors with her flowers.

She is dearly missed and NEVER forgotten for her kindness.

Visitation services will be held at Reyers North Valley Chapel, located at 2815 Fuller Ave N.E., Grand Rapids, Michigan, 49505. The first visitation will occur on January 13, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A second visitation will take place on January 14, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

The funeral service is scheduled for January 14, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the same location and a graveside service will follow at Washington Park Memorial Gardens.
