Albert F. Alm, 90, Kansas City, MO, passed away on Tuesday July 5, 2022 at home. Albert was born in Clinton, Iowa on July 12, 1931. After high school, Albert joined the Navy as an aircraft mechanic from 1951-54. Upon his discharge from the navy, Albert obtained his degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northrop and worked 17 years in the Aerospace industry in California. He then moved with his family to the Kansas City area in 1972 after becoming a franchise owner in the restaurant business for 22 years until his retirement. During this time, Albert along with his wife, were one of the founding members of Nova Center Inc. and the Alm house. After retirement, Albert became active in the American Legion Post 598 in South Kansas City and next the American Legion Post 189 in Lee’s Summit, MO until his death.
Survivors include his daughter, Cynthia (Joel) Sorensen of Bonner Springs, KS; Grandson, Bret (Sara) Sorensen of Tonganoxie, KS; Granddaughter, Monica (Nick) Holle of Omaha, Nebraska; two great grandsons, Austin & Logan Sorensen. Albert is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Alm and his son, Kevin Alm. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, contributions to Nova Center.org and American Legion Post 189.
A graveside service will be at Mount Moriah Cemetery on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at 10:00am with military honors. All family and friends are welcome.
